As part of the expansion plans for Alcan Packaging (Cramlington) Ltd the construction of a new 24m wide and 60m long warehouse extension was commissioned. CK21 were initially asked to assist in attaining planning permission and represent Alcan’s interests in the work that was to be carried out by their landlord, UK Land. We subsequently were employed as project managers and client’s agent for this work along with the Planning Supervisor role as Alcan took direct control. Working closely with the client and management Contractor, Rok, this project was completed on a very tight programme and with minimal disruption to Alcan’s working procedures. The building design is a steel portal frame with full height connection points into the existing the factory. Cleanliness and lack of external contamination to the internal areas of the building were paramount.
